The Opportunity
The Trinity Boston Counseling Center (TBCC) is looking for experienced licensed mental health per diem clinicians to join our dynamic and fast-growing outpatient center. TBCC is a part of the Trinity Boston Connects subsidiary of the Trinity Church of Boston. TBCC’s Outpatient Center mission is to provide holistic, restorative, culturally competent, trauma informed and/or spiritually informed individual, group, and family therapy in support of youth and youth workers. Emphasis is placed on the provision of therapy and professional development training to adults working with youth in urban communities dealing with systemic racism, poverty, and community violence.
A successful Staff Clinician would be a highly motivated individual who believes in our mission and is committed to the areas of social justice and anti-racism in addressing cultural mental health disparities. We are looking for clinicians experienced in one or all the following: trauma, spirituality, multi-cultural issues, acculturation issues, restorative circles, and grief & loss. Must be a licensed LMHC, LICSW, Ph.D or Psy.D in psychology and have a minimum of 4 years experience providing individual, couples, group, and/or family therapy.
The Organization
TBC was born out of the social justice mission of Trinity Church in the City of Boston. We believe that healing the traumatic impact of systemic racism cannot take place without programmatic interventions that integrate three Community Practices: Trauma Inclusion, Restorative Justice, and Racial Equity. The integration of these practices forms the basis of our programming, including both our direct services for youth and our convening, training, and consulting work with other youth-serving organizations throughout the City of Boston.
Our Youth Development & Leadership Division integrates programs that create safe and supportive communities that inspire youth to develop the social emotional learning (SEL) skills necessary for academic, life and career success. These programs include: Sole Train: Boston Runs Together, Trinity@McCormack, and Trinity Education for Excellence Program (TEEP) which together provide direct services to nearly 1,000 youth and families.
To truly change the odds, the communities in which our youth live, learn, and develop must also change. It is not enough to help young people navigate oppressive environments. We strive to help change the schools, institutions, and organizations within which our programs operate so that they can be more supportive and nurturing. As a learning organization, we develop and share best practices with other youth-serving organizations through our Organizational Equity Practice (OEP) and Trinity Boston Counseling Center (TBCC). These two programs provide clinical services, convenings, trainings, coaching, and consulting offerings to Boston youth-serving organizations.
