Sheila Cody Peterson || Chief Development and Communications Officer

Sheila has been working with, and supporting, non-profit and community organizations for over 20 years. She came to know and support Trinity Boston Foundation in its early years of formation through her work as strategic grants manager for the State Street Foundation and as Founder and Director of the Youth Violence Prevention Funder Learning Collaborative in Boston. In these capacities, Sheila managed an $11M grantmaking portfolio in support of hundreds of youth-serving and adult-serving non-profits throughout Boston and led multi-year major gift fundraising campaigns to sustain the collective impact actions of the Funder Collaborative. Most recently, as an independent strategic philanthropy consultant, Sheila provided development and fundraising services to non-profit and education organizations. Prior to State Street, Sheila’s passion for community betterment along with her entrepreneurial skill set led to the establishment of the first corporate citizenship function at the global corporation for which she had been working in a variety of managerial capacities since the beginning of her career. Sheila received a B.A. in Mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross and is a certified facilitator, trainer, and fundraising professional. Sheila serves on the Boards of Directors at New England Center for Arts (NECAT) and Technology and the Hockomock Area YMCA.
