Applications for the 2027 Boston Marathon team open Monday, September 14th, 2026. Please email Fiona (fkelly@trinityconnects.org) to be added to our outreach list.
Trinity Boston Connects (TBC) is proud to be part of the 2027 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program. The Charity Program supports the youth development and leadership work of TBC and greatly contributes to our mission of healing the traumatic impacts of systemic racism on youth of color in Boston.
In addition to applying for one of our 5 charity bibs, we welcome qualified and invitational runners who have secured their own entry from the B.A.A. and are already entered into the 2027 Boston Marathon®. We encourage applicants of diverse backgrounds (racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds) to apply to Team Trinity. TBC will review each application with an equitable lens, particularly relative to fundraising goals, composing a diverse team, and looking for applicants who demonstrate a strong connection to our mission.
The 131st Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America will take place on April 19, 2027. To apply for the opportunity to join the team please read through the details and requirements listed below.

About the Application & Selection Process
• Allow 20-30 minutes to complete the application. Complete, thoughtful responses help us understand your connection to TBC and how you plan to be successful.
• Come prepared with a specific fundraising strategy. Team Trinity charity runners commit to raising a minimum of $12,000, though we encourage runners to set their sights even higher. Tell us who you plan to reach out to, how you will engage potential donors, and any fundraising experience or ideas you bring.
• Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please allow up to two weeks for an initial status update. You may be contacted for additional information or clarification during the review process.
• Selected applicants will participate in a one-hour group interview with TBC staff to discuss their interest in Team Trinity and fundraising plans.
• Each application is personally reviewed. With a limited number of charity entries available, we consider your connection and commitment to TBC’s mission, fundraising goal and strategy, past fundraising experience, and the overall thoughtfulness of your application. Returning Team Trinity runners will also be evaluated based on their previous fundraising results and fulfillment of team commitments.
• A waitlist will be maintained in case additional spots become available. Waitlisted runners are encouraged to begin training in December and may fundraise in support of TBC while waiting. If a spot opens, demonstrated fundraising support will be considered when inviting a runner from the waitlist.
• Already have an official Boston Marathon entry? Runners with their own confirmed entry through the B.A.A. or another invitational source will be welcomed onto Team Trinity upon confirmation of their race entry.
Thank you for your patience throughout this process. TBC is a small (but mighty!) team, and we take the time to thoughtfully review applications, conduct interviews, and select a committed Team Trinity roster.
Thank You Team Trinity 2026!
Congratulations to Team Trinity for crossing the 130th Boston Marathon® finish line! We are incredibly grateful to our 2026 runners who have dedicated so much of their time to training and fundraising.
The 2026 team was made up of 5 charity bib runners, 1 qualified runner, and 4 invitational runners. They collectively raised over $100K in support of our youth development and leadership programs: Sole Train, TEEP, and Circle Keepers. Thank you!
